The Ellis County Medical Society was organized in

1875 with Dr. W. C. Wathen (who lived near Ennis)

as President. Other physicians in early-day Ennis

 were Dr. R. P. White, Dr. R. A. McCall,

and Dr. J.C. Loggins.
